Settlement and Town Council

Katwitwi Settlement is a boarder in the Kavango West region in the Northern of Namibia, approximately 35 km northwest of the town of Nkurenkuru. The settlement was granted in 2016 making Katwitwi the only existing settlement in the entire Kavango West Region and located on the left bank of the kavango River at the border to Angola.

Nkurenkuru Town

Nkurenkuru is a town on the south-western banks of the Kavango River. It is the capital of the Kavango West Region of the northern Namibia, located 140 kilometers west of Rundu. It is also a former mission station of the Finnish Missionary Society.

Nkurenkuru has a population of around 618 (in 2011) inhabitants and in 2013 it became a regional capital again, of the then-created Region of the Kavango West. Nkurenkuru is the smallest town in Namibia.
