Kapako Constituency

Hon. Johannes Karondo
Kapako Constituency
Member of Parliament: National Council

Kapako is a constituency in the Kavango West Region of Namibia. The administrative center is at the village of Kapako. The population as of 2011 stood at 26 983 above the 26 263 of 2001.

The constituency until 2013 belonged to the Kavango Region. In 2013, following a recommendation of the Fourth Delimitation Commission of Namibia, and in preparation of the 2014 general election, the Kavango Region was split into Kavango East and West. The new Ncamagoro Constituency was created from the southern part of Kapako, so that Kapako is now much smaller than before.

Johannes Hamba Karondo of SWAPO won the 2015 regional elections as the Constituency Councillor and retrieved his position uncontested in the 2020 regional elections. Karondo was elected as the Member of the National Council.
